Florence waterfront on the Stillaguamish River about 1899. The Hevly Cash Store is on the left. Probably the Saloon / Hotel and the right. Interestingly the river is frozen with several people standing on the ice! At some point a channel was cleared through Hat Slough and the river through Florence and Stanwood became unnavigable for large boats like these. All of these buildings are now gone except the store, which is in a state of collapse.
