Leaving the Connecticut River, we pass the Old Saybrook Outer Light.  Built in 1886, this is the lighthouse featured on Connecticut's "Save Our Sound" license plates.  In the background is the Lynde Point Light.  Old Saybrook is on the west side of the river mouth and Old Lyme is on the east side.  A good place to read up on and see photos of Connecticut lighthouses is the Connecticut Lighthouse page.
